Facebook - PRIVICY????

I have noticed recently quite a few people starting to use facebook apps - just keep in mind that alot of spammers out there are eager to get, not only your details but your friends details also.

Seen quite a few apps which try to fool users, such as headlines like "click here" to see what "your_friends_id" has said about you, or answered questions on you, or click here to find out something. These apps in particular i would be aware of, they can not only gather your details and your friends, but spread them onto other companies resulting in spam e-mails travelling to your inbox or even automated spam on your wall.

One friend reported that once, after installing an application, it gained access to his Windows Live Account, it then started sending e-mails out to all his hotmail contacts offering them free meds. I know they can be fun (the apps not the meds!), but reason i`m posting this as alot of people may not be aware of today`s "data mining" culture, companies are getting paid every time they gain valuable information at the cost of your privicy, not to mention the amount of identity theft which is already happening on the internet.

Very few people look into the detail of the Facebook Privicy settings.

Have a good look at them, you`ll be amazed even if you think you`ve blocked "everything" at what you may have left out, if you click on "PRIVICY" on facebook settings and check this out.

KORG 01/W Backlight Replacement

backlight i purchased for this project was from

it fits perfect for the KORG 01 Workstation.

This is a guide for people wishing to increase the backlight strength because the KORG 01 may have dimmed over time.

Tutorial By Gavin McCloy.

Make sure you have A4 sheets of paper to lay screws onto and write or sketch which PCB you took the screws from, this way you will be "organized" (excuse the pun)

okay, well make sure also you have a decent screwgun as there are LOADS of screws, (AND I MEAN LOADS!)

you`ll spend most of your time "unscrewing"
But, i know what you would all rather be doing..... :)

Make sure when you lay your KORG down flat on it`s face you put a SPONGE or something soft and SPONGY/FOAM to be gentle with the Pitchbend or you may damage the joystick on it when you turn the 01/W on its front, either that if you have a keyboard stand use this to position the synth taking care not to jam it onto any keys, again, use a sponge to protect vulnerable areas.

*****WARNING***** UNPLUG YOUR KORG 1ST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ZAPPITY ZAP!!!

DO NOT OPEN WHILE YOU HAVE THE POWER PLUGGED IN UNLESS YOU ARE ELECTRICAL SAFETY AWARE AND A QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/TECHNICIAN.
